Colonel's Corner

To all members and friends of the 22nd North Carolina.

March 12, 2010

It is with great sadness that I advise that Company A has lost a dear member, Elba Tirado.  Known to us as Auntie Elba, she was a welcome member of our group.  Aunt of Sgt. Gonzalez, she joined the re-enacting hobby some 5 years ago at an age where most of us were retiring.  Auntie was about 65 years old and took right to tenting.  And she loved to cook for all the boys.  Her twinkling eyes and beautiful smile will always be missed. Rest in Peace Auntie.  We will never forget you.

The snow is almost gone.  Sunny and 60 degrees and I still have 6 inches of drift at the front door, but it's going away fast.

Have you checked your equipment, loaded rounds, sewed on the missing buttons and read up on the drill ?  It won't be long now.  Our southern bretheren are already shootin' Yankees.

Here's to a safe and enjoyable season.  Go get 'um boys !!

      I'm falling out !!
