Colonel's Corner

To all members and friends of the 22nd North Carolina.

May 26, 2010

I am proud to announce that the 22nd North Carolina has organized a flag preservation program in conjunction with the Museum of North Carolina.  I am extremely pleased to announce that the 22nd North Carolina Flag project has been completed with our assistance and is on the way to being preserved for later display.  Many thanks to Cpl. Bob Brooks for organizing this fine project and getting it off the ground. And no less thanks to those who have assisted him.

The 22nd has now adopted the flag of the 18th North Carolina as it's next project and funds are being collected. The 18th were our comrades at the Battle of Gettysburg.   We have some fine looking t-shirts for sale and all money raised will go to the flag preservation.  For convenience, donations and t-shirt payments can be made by Pay Pal .  See the schedule page of this web site.
The final plans are being made for the trip to North Carolina. Companies A, E and I are traveling south for the Skirmish at Warmsprings.  The excitement is building as we will be meeting up with Companies B and K on the home ground.
Sgt. Major Anderson has been working diligently with all of the NCO's of the Valley 3rd Battalion to put everyone on the same page for drill and tactics.  In a short period of time this year, we have made great accomplishments. I look forward to what the future holds  for the 22nd North Carolina and the Valley Division, 3rd Battalion. Some exciting times!
